We’re on the lookout for talent but are our expectations too high?
It’s an exciting year ahead for Dotted Eyes and once again we’re on the lookout for talent. We’ve got lots of exciting projects in the pipeline, for some of the biggest names around, so we need more technology whizzes to join our team.
We’re currently looking for a java/javascript developer to join our growing team of developers. We don’t just want someone who ticks all the boxes when it comes to having the right technical skills though. We want someone who has got something about them. We want someone who is passionate about Open Source and GIS, like the rest of us here at Dotted Eyes.
Getting the right person is fundamental. They need to fit with the innovative and fast paced culture of Dotted Eyes. They need to take real pride in what they do because we believe in going the extra mile for our customers to produce work that we’re really proud of.
We’re looking for someone who is able to think in the mindset of the customer and is constantly pushing the boundaries to come up with new ideas or approaches to problem solving. This is something we actively encourage. For example, each week we take time out to run an innovation session, where over a few drinks and a slice or two of pizza, the team brainstorm ideas for new products or ways of doing things better.
With such high expectations, you may wonder whether we’re asking for too much. After all, according to a recent article in Computer Weekly we’re in the midst of an IT skills shortage. Well I’ve applied this approach to all new recruits at Dotted Eyes and as a result I’ve built a team of great people. For me it’s always worth taking the time and effort to make sure when we recruit, we hire the right person.
If you’d like to work for us, please send your CV to jobs@dottedeyes.com
