TravelMap (Ordnance Survey Meridian 2 Communications theme)
TravelMap is based on the Ordnance Survey Meridian 2 Communication theme dataset, made up of vector layers covering GB (not including the Isle of Man). It consists of all driveable roads (other than dead-ends shorter than 200m), junctions and roundabouts, plus national railway routes and named stations.

TravelMap suggested applications
- Major roads routing;
- Customisable backdrop mapping;
- Site location;
- Territory management;
- Environmental analysis.
TravelMap features & use
- All drivable roads except dead-ends shorter than 200m;
- Includes road names, plus junction and roundabout points;
- Dual carriageways simplified to a single centre-line;
- Railways and stations (as in the Passenger Handbook);
- Local authority boundaries in the form of regions;
- Tile edges dissolved to form continuous layers;
- Features fit perfectly with TopoMap vector data, also derived from Ordnance Survey Meridian 2 data set;

TravelMap technical information
A workspace (for use in MapInfo Professional GIS) or project file (for use in ESRI ArcView/GIS) opens all the layers and sets zoom layer thresholds that determine when the layers are visible.
Suitable for scales on screen in the range 1:2,000,000 to 1:20,000. More layers become visible as you zoom in.
This data product is based on the Ordnance Survey mid-scale data set, the roads in which were formerly marketed as OSCAR Route-Manager. The location of boundaries is accurate to within 50m. This is within one pixel on screen at scales of up to 1:200,000.
The British National Grid co-ordinate system is used. The coastline fits closely with RangerMap (derived from 1:50,000 Scale Colour Raster from Ordnance Survey).
The storage space required is about 840Mb for full GB coverage in MapInfo TAB format.
Main formats available: MapInfo TAB, ESRI SHP, AutoCAD DXF, Illustrator EPS and others.
TopoMap is licensed for internal business use by a specified number of users and includes hard copy prints up to A3 in size. Publishing on the Internet may count as a single user, depending on the application.
After the first year there is an annual charge equal to the initial price, including one update per year.
