RoadwayMap technical information

A workspace or project file opens all the layers and sets zoom layer thresholds that determine when the layers are visible, to allow smooth transition when zooming.

A georeferencing file positions each image and a seamless table opens all the files required for the current map view.

The nominal scale of the most detailed images in this set is 1:5,000 (about 12 inches to 1 mile) and the resolution is 10 dots/mm (254 dpi). Each pixel represents 1m square.

The British National Grid co-ordinate system is used.

The storage space required is approximately 7.0GB for 1:12,500 Scale British Isles coverage in MapInfo TAB\TIFF format. LZW compression is used.

Main formats available: TIFF, JPEG and others, along with georeferencing files for use in GIS.
