InterestMap is derived from the Ordnance Survey Points of Interest database covering Great Britain (not including the Isle of Man). It consists of a vector layer of points indexed on record name for use with the Find command in a GIS, all highlighting location and function information, (classified into more than 600 individual classifications from more than 150 different suppliers) and with a postal address for all postally addressable points.

- Categorised at three levels - Level 1 (made up of 9 groups), Level 2 (made up of 49 categories) and Level 3 (made up of >600 classes);
- Location details of business, leisure sites and geographic features;
- Over 3.8 million records in national GB coverage;
- Custom symbols supplied for each Level 2 category;
- OS MasterMap TOID and Version included for each record, enabling association to features in OS MasterMap Topography Layer;
- Ready to use, as a .TAB file for MapInfo software or .SHP for ESRI software. Also available as text file format;
- Includes locality name of Primary Care Organisation (PCO);
- Fits accurately with CoverMap RASTER and CoverMap VECTOR products derived from OS MasterMap Topography Layer dataset;
- Available as full national coverage or smaller ‘cut-out’ extracts. Also available as selection of classifications from any of the three levels.
InterestMap technical information
A workspace (for use in MapInfo Professional GIS) or project file (for use in ESRI ArcView or ArcGIS) is supplied.
Suitable for scales on screen in the range 1:1,000 to 1:10,000. The resolution of coordinates is 1m. Each point with the highest positional quality indicator (“1”) falls within the footprint of the associated building in CoverMap, the most detailed mapping available.
The British National Grid co-ordinate system is used.
The storage space required is about 2.2GB for full GB coverage in MapInfo TAB format.
Main formats available: MapInfo TAB, ESRI SHP, AutoCAD DXF, Illustrator EPS and others.
InterestMap is licensed for internal business use by a specified number of users and includes hard copy prints. Publishing on the Internet may be licensed by special arrangement.
After the first year there is an annual charge equal to the initial price, including one update per year.
