TravelMap OSNI is based on part of the Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland (OSNI) Small Scale (1:50,000 Scale) dataset, made up of vector layers. It consists of all driveable roads (other than dead-ends shorter than 200m), junctions, plus national railway routes and named stations.

TravelMap OSNI suggested applications
- Major roads routing functionality;
- Customisable backdrop mapping;
- Territory management;
- Environmental analysis.
TravelMap OSNI features & use
- All drivable roads except dead-ends shorter than 200m;
- Includes road names, plus junction and roundabout points;
- Dual carriageways simplified to a single centre-line;
- Tile edges dissolved to form continuous layers;
- Features fit perfectly with TopoMap OSNI vector data, also derived from same source dataset;
- Available as full national coverage or smaller ‘cut-out’ extracts (priced per sq km)
TravelMap OSNI technical information
A workspace (for use in MapInfo Professional GIS) or project file (for use in ESRI ArcView/GIS) opens all the layers and sets zoom layer thresholds that determine when the layers are visible.
Suitable for scales on screen in the range 1:2,000,000 to 1:20,000. More layers become visible as you zoom in.
The location of features is accurate to within 50m. This is within one pixel on screen at scales of up to 1:200,000.
The Irish Transverse Mercator Grid co-ordinate system is used. The coastline fits closely with RangerMap OSNI.
The storage space required is about 25Mb for full NI coverage in MapInfo TAB format.
Main formats available: MapInfo TAB, ESRI SHP, AutoCAD DXF, Illustrator EPS and others.
TravelMap OSNI is licensed for internal business use by a specified number of users and includes hard copy prints up to A3 in size. Publishing on the Internet can require the next multi-user pricing band.
After the first year there is an annual charge equal to the initial price, including one update per year.
