Vertical Mapper
Vertical Mapper is an extension to MapInfo Professional that allows users to create grids or continuous surfaces of data for modeling and analysis, including output in 3D.
Vertical Mapper’s analysis tools allow users to reveal trends in data, such as tracking the migration of a virus across a region.
Its prediction capabilities allow users to select a test location and Vertical Mapper will identify areas with statistically similar attributes.
Suitable applications
- Site location analysis;
- Disease incidence modelling;
- Crime hotspot profiling;
- Viewshed analysis for radio planning.
Features
Create a grid from a series of point features, to create an interpolated surface.
6 gridding algorithms are included: Natural Neighbour, Inverse weighted distance function, Kriging, Custom Point Estimation, Rectangular interpolation and Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) with smoothing.
The Trade Area analysis tool provides a further insight into multiple locations and their suitability for trade, depending on chosen criteria.
Display grids in either a 3D window or set your own colour schemes for values above and below a critical value, to understand the impact of a predicted scenario better.
Overlay a raster backdrop onto your 3D model.
Analyse the results through a viewshed or by combining many layers of information together to get a composite grid, bringing together all the factors in your decision making process.
Perform a cross-section between any chosen point in your model.
Benefits
Understand trends in your data better;
Obtain an insight and perspective on specific locations, even when site data is incomplete for those sites;
Control the modeling process, selecting from a wide range of techniques and calculation options.
Licensing
Licensed on a single user basis.
