OS VectorMap Local

OS VectorMap Local is a flexible dataset based on the most detailed mapping available from Britain’s national mapping agency.

We take the raw GML format, which needs specialist processing to convert it into a format and structure which is suitable for use in GIS and CAD systems, or in a web GIS, and convert it into a choice of formats. We also optimise the data using our standard optimisation processes, and then enhance it still further using OS VectorMap specific styling creating value-added features, including cartographic hachures for slopes and colour-coded areas for roads, railway track beds and tunnels.

VectorMap Local optimised data is available for county, GOR or national cover as part of our Miso Data Optimiser service. Alternatively, smaller areas can be delivered - optimised - as part of our standard data service.
