Accessible ResponseMX Demo

This simple Flash application demonstrates some of the accessible features of the ResponseMX ActionScript API including:

• Making all controls accessible via the keyboard including map navigation (try tabbing through the controls, use the space bar to activate the focused button and the arrow keys to navigate lists)

• Providing screen reader prompts to describe the various controls, lists of results etc.

• Allowing the application to scale with respect to the users desired text size. (See this article by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) for help on changing the text size in your browser).

A number of these features will make their way into the core ActionScript API before v2.6. It should be noted that it's also important to provide users access to the key information that a given application is designed to convey, generally via alternative textual (non graphical) content. There are a number of ways that the ResponseMX Server API can be used to generate this content as text or XHTML.
