FME World Tour Event 2015
Having built up a reputation for delivering events with a difference, our FME World Tour did not disappoint with delegates scoring it as one of the best events they’ve been to.
Hosted this month at our headquarters in Birmingham, the event proved so popular that within weeks of invites being sent out it had already sold out. Delegates travelled from across the UK to attend, with some coming from as far as Durham and Kent.
Rather than sticking to the same old format each year, we always tries to raise the bar by making the sessions even more innovative and engaging. This year they added a fun and thought-provoking session called “Beat the Geek”. Delegates were streamed into teams and then pitted against our own FME experts to solve common business problems and technical challenges.
Another new and interactive addition to the agenda was the “Shoot out at the FME Corral” where delegates, raring to go in their cowboy hats, engaged in a showdown against other teams to build the best FME workbench. As a follow up to the day, they were also sent the valuable workbench for use in their own workplace.
We kept some of the favourites, including the FME Pub Quiz and a presentation from Aaron Koning, who had travelled all the way from Safe Software in Canada, to discuss the latest and greatest developments in FME for 2015.
The ultimate goal of the event was for everyone to leave with new concepts and ideas that they could then apply in their own workplace.
Michael McGuiness from Birmingham City Council commented:
“A fantastic event, well put together and run. It was impossible to come away not having learnt something new.”
Tom Wicks from Atkins also added:
“I found it an engaging, entertaining and useful event that catered for all abilities.”
