DOTTED EYES TO HOST FME EVENT WITH THE AGI
As a result of the phenomenal demand for our FME User Groups we’re pleased to announce that Dotted Eyes will also be hosting a joint FME event with the Association of Geographic Information (AGI) in Manchester.
Our FME User Groups have proven tremendously popular with our Birmingham venue now full and our London venue also nearing capacity. And whilst we’re unable to host another full day event we want as many people as possible to benefit from hearing from the guru himself – Dale Lutz, the co-founder of Safe Software. That’s why we’ve arranged for him to speak to AGI’s members at an exclusive FME event.
Held on the evening of Tuesday 11 September, this free event will be of interest to individuals already using or considering using FME – the leading data work flow spatial technology. A world renowned speaker, Dale will be surveying the trends in geospatial data: from pixels to point clouds.
Dale will look into how we’ve seen incredible changes in how Geospatial Data is collected, transformed, visualized, and used over the last 20 years. From tapes with Kilobytes of simple raster datasets, to diskettes with 2D CAD files, to spatial databases, to 3D cities, to Gigabyte point clouds, to coming inside our buildings with BIM models; GIS professionals have never had such a wealth and diversity of information available to them.
He will be exploring these developments and examining the direction of recent industry trends (from the desktop, to the server, to the cloud, to the handset) through the lens of Safe Software, the Canada-based maker of FME and the experts in spatial data transformation.
Date: Tuesday 11th September
Time: 5:30pm-7:30pm
Venue: Manchester Metropolitan University, Oxford Road, Manchester, M15 6BH
